Gorgeous. Well done. Love the shadows and highlights, and the fade of the wings from the negative space out into the light.

master bedlamboy, may i ask how you managed to capture this picture? did you scan it in, becuase there is no indication of a camera. i ask this, because you seem to manage to get a nice white sheet of paper, as well as even shading. :)
your help would be much appreciated:)!

Yep it was scanned. i just cropped the edges in photoshop. As for the whiteness and shading ... actually my paper has texture but not that rough .. and some detail is lost due to the quality of the image, i compressed it a lot because it was too difficult to upload on my 56 kb modem hehe. Hope this helps master aristocrats knights :)

um! no way!
that has to be one of the best pictures i have ever seen! did you create this all out of your head? gods, you must be a genius!!!! i love everything about this picture! the realism, the sensitivity, the innocence, and the fact that you SOMEHOW managed to do it all in charcoal! (how actually did you keep it for longer than say a week before it disintegrated on you? even with the help of fixative)
truely amazing work.
droooooooool :P

thanks! im no genius hehe. The girl was from a nude picture but i just added the wings, rocks and edited the face and hair so it wouldnt look profane. Thats the way i look at females .. the purity is still there. :)

Absolutely stunning. Such innocence in her face.... I like the contrast of the innocence and what looks like tortured faces in the rocks/mountain she is sitting on

hello, glad to help you ... well i have 3 kinds of charcoal pencil ... ( soft. medium and hard ) . and two kinds of brush .. no. 2 and 4 bristle brush for use in blending. I also use a canvas paper because it has this nice rough texture effect. try those :) thanks for the comment .... :) cheers.

Hey there, I was just wondering what this was done off of?
I just ask because I see there has been much work done here and I am toying around with charcoal myself. I love the way you blend the charcoal with the picture and the pure softness that radiate's off like perfume.

HOLY CRAP, MAN, THAT'S BEAUTIFUL!!! wow.. wow wow wow... lol.. you have an amazing amount of skill. I especially love the face, you've done an excellent job. I'm just trying out charcoal, myself, and I certainly hope to reach the mastery that you obviously have.

Thank you! I love doing charcoal. As for all mediums practice is the key ... we all have talents, we only have to polish the skill ... so just keep on doing and believing in your passion. cheers!
